Area I.T. & T. is the business of Anthony Rea, now a resident of Lismore in Victoria. 

The business was started in West Heidelberg, Melbourne, providing I.T. services, design and solutions, along with telecommunication systems to small business in the area. Whilst the business was successful, life in the city was not ideal, so Anthony moved to Lismore in 2006.  

The goal now is to provide a local wide-ranging service to meet the diverse needs of the community for transparent technology - technology that makes your life easier, rather than getting in the way! This can be accomplished by correctly determining the needs of the client, to establish the best combination of hardware and software to enable their ends to be met.

•  Offering engin Voice Over Internet Protocol telephony services, which can save rural families considerable amounts on their phone bill each month.
• Home / business computer maintenance and repairs, and on-site tuition at sensible prices.
• Design, supply and installation of home networks, to enable the sharing of internet and files.
• Sale of dedicated firewall computers to protect your network at very competitive prices.
• Sales of budget, reconditioned computer systems for email and internet use at minimal prices.
• Sale of selected consumer items from the Electus Distribution range, and special ordering of items not held in stock as required.
• Working with other businesses in the district who skills compliment those of Area I.T. & T.

Whilst Anthony holds the Microsoft Certified System Engineer (M.C.S.E.) Certification and has a high level of competence with Microsoft's Windows products, he is a firm believer and supporter of the Open Source alternatives. Open source can vastly reduce the purchase price of a computer, as well has have a greater effect on the total cost of ownership over it's lifetime. 

Open Source software is far more accessible for customization to meet your exact requirements, with the added benefit of not being targeted by malware, which presents such a security problem to the Windows desktop.
